There is no end to the tricks that spammers will try to pull to enable their spam messages to slip by filters and junk mail defenses. It's as if spammers stay up all night long playing with spam filters and devising new ways to bypass their defeneses.  How else can you explain the sudden proliferation of techniques affecting electronic mail daily?

Here's some of the the tricks spammers try to pull, while creating spam mail that has the best chance of slipping by defenses and getting to you.  These range from fairly innocent to insidious.

• Send the spam as a MIME encoded message.
• Send as plain text to disguise as a normal message.
• Use broken HTML including no end tags.
• Switch sender addresses each time to avoid spam filters that pick up on repeat offenders.
• Omit the MIME end boundaries to confuse the spam filters.
• Use the recipient address also as the sender address since spam filters generally allow messages through to yourself.
• Put the recipient address in the subject field to confuse spam filters.
