Why a Proxy?
When I began this
spam project two years ago I never dreamed of what I was
getting into. What began as a novel idea to nuke spam from my
Inbox became an entire technology centered around the first ever
e-mail proxy. When I began this venture, there were
very few spam products; now, of course, they
are everywhere. I even get spam promoting anti-spam
products, if you can believe that! I refuse to go that
far. But in my opinion, E-Proxy 2000 has something that none
of the other anti-spam products have: the ability to intercept
your messages and filter spam without redirecting them to another
location or program.
It amazes me that
all the other other spam products actually make you go to another
program to decide what or what not is spam. I would
rather just delete it in my InBox. Call me lazy, but I never
envisioned pulling mail into another product before it reaches
my Inbox a spam solution. From the outset, I desired the
solution to be as unobtrusive on my normal e-mail functions as
possible - as natural as working within my mail client itself.
The only way to do this was to come up with a program that would
screen all inbound mail before it got to me. This program
would make a decision based on keywords I provided as to whether the
message was spam or not. The keywords could be simple HTML
tags or the actual addresses of spammers that I had collected.
The program would then tag a trailer line at the end of a message
that it considered spam and this trailer line would be picked up by
a rule within my mail client which would determine what should
happen to the message. By leveraging rules, I could move the
message to another folder of my choice or just delete it
completely. I choose the former, because I'm always nervous
about loosing something dreadfully important in the deluge of
spam.
Hence E-Proxy was
born and the idea of an e-mail proxy created. I hope you find
this site and give the product a try, for I won't be spamming
you! It works against spam and soon you won't be able to live
without out, while forgetting it's even there - now that, in my
mind, is the best kind of software solution. - Christopher
